Foundation and history

Bee/Partment Marken GmbH was founded in July 2021; its founder and managing director is Andreas W. Büscher, who previously worked in the serviced flat industry. Bee/Partment positions itself as an innovative provider in the accommodation segment – the motto is ‘Check in. Into life!’. Bee/Partment has ‘redeveloped’ the accommodation business and is eliminating the typical compromises of hotel bookings. Shortly after its foundation, the first location in Unterföhring (Munich) was planned with 561 units, and further properties have since been under construction.

Business model and operation

Bee/Partment operates serviced flats and hotels under its own concept brands, sometimes in partnership with established hotel chains (e.g. Holiday Inn, Best Western). Current locations include the Airporthotel Residenz Stuttgart-Steinenbronn, Holiday Inn Munich-Unterhaching, [Bee]Village Messehotel Hannover-Laatzen, Best Western Premier Airporthotel Berlin, Best Western Conference Airporthotel Frankfurt-Mörfelden and SleepBeeOne Wilhelmshaven. The properties are marketed directly via the website and partner portals, while co-operations with property owners and investors are also used.

Bee/Partment also offers customised company packages – such as long-term stays (business longstays of up to 6 months) and conference rooms for events. One focus is on digitalisation (e.g. mobile check-ins) and sustainability: part of the proceeds automatically flow into bee conservation projects. According to the register, the company’s purpose is summarised as the ‘provision of brands in the hotel and hospitality sector as well as the short, medium and long-stay sector’ (including Bee/Partment and ‘Dein Maja’).

Produkte und Dienstleistungen

Bee/Partment has developed several accommodation and service concepts:

  • [Bee]Village: A city hotel concept for spontaneous, price-conscious travellers and backpackers. It offers flats with kitchenettes, flexible self-check-in and communal areas – ‘backpacker feeling at hotel level’ with concierge service.
  • Sleep[Bee]: Flats tailored to business travellers with an innovative room concept. The rooms are spacious (privacy for groups, quiet zones) and there are additional lounges with entertainment (e.g. table football, big screen). The aim is to make you feel ‘at home’ even when you are travelling.
  • Sleep[Bee]One (WorkerBeeXL): New version of the Sleep[Bee] with two separate beds in one room (ideal for colleagues or families) and automated 24/7 vending machines under the ‘Dein Maja’ catering concept. This eliminates the need for a traditional hotel reception and guests can take snacks/drinks at any time. Sleep[Bee]One is aimed at business travellers and holiday groups who value both sociability and privacy.
  • „Dein Maja“: Own catering concept with snack and drinks vending machines. It serves guests in all hotels around the clock and is an integral part of the Sleep[Bee]One offers.
  • BRÜDERZ: A combined coworking and catering area. This concept combines working and eating in a modern ambience – with flexible workstations and versatile cuisine. It appeals to both hotel guests and external coworkers.
  • ACADE[BEE]: Our own employee academy. Bee/Partment offers internal training programmes (from ‘Basic’ to ‘Leader’) for the further training of employees and thus promotes the next generation of specialists and managers.
  • Longstay/Smartstay: For business travellers staying longer, there is a customised all-round package. Bee/Partment advertises that long-term stays are organised like a second home (‘Smartstay’). The offers include, for example, discounted corporate rates, flexible cancellation conditions and all-inclusive service for stays of up to six months.
  • Sustainability: Environmental protection and social responsibility are firmly anchored in the concept. For each overnight stay, a portion of the room price is donated to non-profit bee conservation projects. Bee/Partment has already taken on sponsorships for bee colonies at several locations (including Frankfurt).

Andreas W. Büscher, founder and Managing Director of Bee/Partment, brings many years of hospitality experience to the company. Under his leadership, Bee/Partment sees itself not only as a hotel operator, but also as a ‘holistic visionary’ in the hospitality sector.

The aim is to ‘revolutionise the world of overnight stays’. In doing so, we are guided by the characteristics of bees – efficient, social and sustainable – which is also recognisable in our corporate identity (choice of brand and name). The Bee/Partment team has a strong focus on hospitality and digitalisation – for example through mobile services and paperless processes.
